Wayne On A Mission: Anderson Is A “Stepping Stone”
Uncharacteristically quiet over the last few weeks, it seems that the NWA DAWG Champion and number one contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship has now broken his silence. In a phone interview on Wednesday, Wayne shared his thoughts on the events surrounding not winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the path he now faces to wear the belt he believes is rightfully his. Below is a portion of that interview…
World Wide Wrestling: Obviously I have to ask about the last couple of weeks and the powers that be in the National Wrestling Alliance adding in Kagahas the last minute in an elimination match it appeared you clearly were going to win.
Damien Wayne: I don’t know what strings Kagahas and his manager pulled to walk into the end of the match in Clayton, NJ but I’m no puppet. The only string I got is attached to the foot I plan on using to stomp Kagahas’ ass. If you happen to be one of the unlucky that gets in my way before I get a rematch, I’ll use you as a stepping stone as I make my way to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
WWW: Pro Wrestling Illustrated recently ranked you as the number two contender in the National Wrestling Alliance and you were named the top indie worker by ProRasslin.net. The media is certainly taken notice of your talent, but you’re still not the man…
DW: Let me tell you one thing… I am second to none. Born to amaze. You want to test me? Anyone that wants to test me… Bring it to the ring and get Xperienced!
WWW: It appears that C.W. Anderson wants to have another run at you and will get the opportunity December 1, 2012 in Jacksonville, NC at “Patriot Games”. You two have had lots of heat in the past. How do you feel about having to put the NWA DAWG Championship on the line against the former ECW star, a man who could de-rail your world title aspirations?
DW: Anderson and I have some unfinished business from a while back in Virginia. Just because he carries the Anderson name, he thinks it’s money in the bank. It doesn’t matter what his last name is or where he’s been. I’m the best pro wrestler in the business today. He’s in the wrong place at the wrong time and I’m pissed off. I plan on taking my anger out on everyone until I get what’s rightfully mine… the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. C.W. Anderson is just another stepping stone on my path.
